About this adventure

Woodstown Central Railroad runs its Candlelight Limited on the evening of Woodstown By Candlelight, the town's holiday celebration. Families board restored, heated 1930s passenger cars at the Downtown Woodstown Station on West Wilson Avenue for a 75-minute, roughly 14-mile round trip through the South Jersey countryside. Santa walks through the train to visit each family and every child receives a gift. Halfway through, the train stops for about 15 minutes at the decorated South Woodstown Station, where children can drop letters in Santa's Mailbox, warm up at the fire pits, take photos and browse the gift shop, before returning downtown. There are two departures, and the railroad asks riders to arrive 30 minutes early and dress warmly for the evening layover and the downtown festivities. Restrooms are on board; the historic cars are not fully wheelchair accessible. A cozy choice for families with young children who want Santa, a vintage train and a small-town holiday stroll in one evening.
