Every evening from the day after Thanksgiving through December 30, the grounds of the Mesa Arizona Temple in downtown Mesa glow with hundreds of thousands of lights, gardens and displays celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Families stroll the north lawn at their own pace from 5 to 10 p.m. Across Main Street, the Mesa Temple Visitors' Center hosts the International Nativity Exhibit, more than 200 nativity scenes from around the world (5–10 p.m. nightly, plus 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays), and floor-to-ceiling murals of Christ open daily 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Children can also use the Light the World Giving Machines to buy items for Arizona charities. Admission is free. Free parking may be available in the city's Park and Ride lot at Mesa Drive and Main Street, and a light-rail stop sits just west of the temple.
