About this adventure
Every ensemble of the Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras plays in one afternoon concert to open the season: the Percussion Ensemble, Prelude Strings, String Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra, with young musicians ranging from beginners to advanced high-school players. Because it moves from the youngest groups to the top orchestra, it is a good way for children to hear what kids their own age can play and to see the path from first strings to full symphony. The concert is in Mesa Arts Center's Ikeda Theater at 2:00 pm. Student tickets (21 and under) are much cheaper than adult seats, and lap children 2 and under are free.
