- Texture Ballet School with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra
Texture Ballet School and Texture Contemporary Ballet take The Nutcracker to the Palace Theatre in downtown Greensburg on Saturday, December 12, with live music by the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. Texture describes it as the region's only live-orchestra version of the traditional ballet. Students dance alongside guest artists from the professional company in the story of Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, Drosselmeyer and the battle with the Rat Queen. There are two performances, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., which makes the matinee times easy for younger children. The Palace Theatre is wheelchair accessible; accessibility questions go to the Westmoreland Cultural Trust. Tickets are sold through the Buy Tickets link on Texture's page.
