About this adventure
The Oregon Historical Society opens the holiday season with its long-running Holiday Cheer, a free afternoon in its downtown museum where dozens of Oregon authors sit at long tables to chat with readers and sign their books. Families can look for children's and young-adult authors and pick up personally signed books as gifts for young readers, sip hot cocoa, and visit OHS's annual Meier & Frank Santaland display. Drop in any time between noon and 4 p.m.; there is no admission charge for the event, and books are bought through the OHS Museum Store at checkout stations rather than at the authors' tables. OHS lists the event as family-friendly and handicap accessible.
