About this adventure

Local mushroom guide Leah Bendlin leads a two-hour, easy-rated hike through Mount Talbert Nature Park to explore the weird and wonderful world of fungi in peak mushroom season. Participants learn about the ecological roles of mushrooms, their forms and how they feed and reproduce, then try hands-on identification exercises along the trail; field guides are provided. Metro opens it to all ages with minors accompanied by adults. Classes are capped at 15 people and require advance registration. Both Saturday sessions (morning and early afternoon) are already full, but Metro keeps a waitlist open. Meet at the park's picnic shelter; pets are not allowed in Metro natural areas.
