About this adventure

Marine biologist, divemaster and virtual-reality filmmaker Erika Woolsey, a National Geographic Explorer, takes the audience on a series of dives on the Great Barrier Reef, from its spectacular coral spawning 'snow globe' to the bleaching that has killed more than half its coral, and introduces the reef's most colorful residents and the work to save them. Before the 7:30 p.m. presentation, OMSI runs a free Amazing Whales session in The Reser's lobby from 5 to 6 p.m.: young marine biologists examine baleen, touch real whale artifacts, learn about whale adaptations and habitat, and see a 60-foot, life-size inflatable whale. The whale session is for ages 5 and up with limited space, so reserve a free spot; the main talk is ticketed at $31.75 to $56 and best for older kids and teens.
