About this adventure
The Franklin County Library's Central Library in Louisburg holds a free Family Storytime on Monday mornings for young children from birth to age 5 and the grown-ups who care for them. Each 45-minute session mixes picture-book stories, songs and rhymes chosen to build the early literacy skills children need before they learn to read, such as listening, vocabulary and hearing the sounds in words, and it gives parents and caregivers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers a regular, low-key outing in town. The county calendar lists sessions on Nov 2, 9 and 16, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:15 am; the library is closed for Thanksgiving week and over the Christmas and New Year holidays, so check the calendar for later dates. No registration is mentioned, so families can simply drop in. The branch also runs ABC Craft & Learn and STEAM Free Play on Saturdays and an Afternoon Adventures STEAM hour for K–5 children on Monday afternoons.
