About this adventure
A large state park between Raleigh, Cary and RTP with 34.5 miles of hiking trails, 13 miles of multi-use trails for bikes and horses, and three lakes with their creeks for fishing and paddling. The visitor center at the Crabtree Creek entrance has exhibits on the park's ecology and history, and the park offers picnic shelters, seasonal boat rentals, tent and group campsites and Maple Hill Lodge. Kids can earn a Junior Ranger badge through the state parks program, and the park's site has a 'Visiting with kids' section and learning materials. Note: there is currently no connection from the South Turkey Creek multi-use trail to North Turkey Creek or Cedar Ridge because of bridge repairs.
