About this adventure
Downtown Auburn lights its Christmas tree in Central Square on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Live music fills the square from 3:30 PM, and Santa arrives at 5:30 PM to light the tree; the celebration wraps up at 7 PM. The city lists the event as free. Central Square is the former intersection on Lincoln Way that now serves as a public art park, a short walk from downtown shops, so it pairs easily with a holiday-weekend stroll. The following Saturday, December 5, brings Auburn's evening Festival of Lights Parade through downtown.
