Rangers set up a hands-on discovery table at the Main Staging Area of Ramona Grasslands County Preserve, where children can look closely at taxidermy, pelts, skins and skulls of animals that live along local trails. It is a drop-in, two-hour table (10 a.m.–noon) on alternating Saturdays, so families can stop before or after a walk on the preserve's flat grassland trails. Good for curious preschoolers through tweens who want to learn which animals they might spot. Call (760) 788-3326 for information.
