About this adventure

The third annual San Diego–North County Turkey Trot fills Thanksgiving morning at 4S Ranch Sports Park with a 10K, a 5K and a Kids 1K Fun Run, so families can run together or cheer on the youngest runners. The 10K starts at 7:15 AM and the 5K at 7:30 AM; the kids' 1K follows at 8:45 AM, after the 5K awards, and the morning closes at 9:00 AM with the 10K awards and a costume contest, so turkey-themed costumes are encouraged. Every participant receives a participation shirt, a finisher medal, a swag bag and a raffle entry, and there are awards in each age division. All proceeds benefit Active Kids Alliance, which gives sports scholarships to children and families in need. Registration is online through RunSignup: the kids' race costs $27.50 including fees, while 5K and 10K prices rise after October 31. A virtual 5K is also offered for runners who cannot be there in person.
