About this adventure

The Paul Schorr Memorial Holiday Run and Walk for Health is a long-running East County tradition put on by local Kiwanis and Rotary members at Contra Loma Regional Park, founded decades ago by Tom Torlakson to promote fitness. The morning has three parts: a 1-mile run/walk at 9:00 AM, a 3-mile (5K) run/walk at 9:35 AM and a free Kids Dash with Santa at 10:15 AM, which makes it an easy holiday outing for families with young children. Older kids (6–15) pay a reduced fee for the 1-mile or 3-mile courses, and the top three in each age group receive custom awards. The race is staged in the parking lot of the park's swimming lagoon; tell the parking booth you are there for the Kiwanis/Rotary Run and staff will direct you. Registration opens at 7:30 AM on race day.
