About this adventure
Capitol Hill's HILLOWEEN returns on Halloween itself, Saturday, October 31, with a free carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. at the AIDS Memorial Pathway plaza at Broadway and Denny, bracketed by two trick-or-treat routes: Pike/Pine from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (starting at Chophouse Row) and Broadway from 4 to 6 p.m. (starting at the plaza when the carnival ends). The carnival has free face painting, carnival games with candy prizes, arts and crafts, and a center stage hosted by Donnatella Howe, with a spooky drag storytime by Aleksa Manila, a pet costume contest, magician Joe Black and the Chaotic Noise Marching Corps, followed at 4 p.m. by a costume parade down Broadway. The organizers call it a perfect event for kids of all ages, with plenty for adults too, and ask guests to RSVP on the website.
