About this adventure
International Ballet Theatre's traditional holiday Nutcracker returns to the Meydenbauer Theatre in downtown Bellevue for twelve public performances over two weeks. Staged with traditional choreography by Vera Altunina based on the original 1892 Ivanov and Petipa production, it follows Clara and her prince beyond the snow-covered forest to the Land of Sweets, set to Tchaikovsky's score. The ballet is in two acts with one intermission and runs about 1 hour 50 minutes. Opening night is Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.; weekend and winter-week shows are mostly at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., with the last performance on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. Separate school performances are offered through IBT's outreach program.
