About this adventure

The annual Woodinville Turkey Trot fills Wilmot Gateway Park on Thanksgiving morning, hosted by Woodinville Running Company. The morning opens at 8:45 a.m. with a kids parade led by the Woodinville High School Marching Band and the school's mascot, the Falcon; the organizers say you don't watch the parade, you are the parade, and there are prizes for best youth costume, best family costume and best-dressed couple. At 9:00 a.m. the Kid's Dash sends children 6 and under on a short course of about 200 yards on the trail to finish under the start/finish arch. The chip-timed 5K follows at about 9:15 a.m. on a flat out-and-back course on the Sammamish River Trail, with age-group awards (including a 6–14 group) at 10:15 a.m.; a virtual 5K is also offered. Strollers are allowed if they start at the rear; dogs are not. Part of the proceeds and all sponsorship dollars go to the Woodinville HS Boosters Wrestling Team.
