About this adventure

The river town of Grafton rings in 2027 with a fireworks show over the Mississippi launched from Lighthouse Park on the riverfront. The show is scheduled for 10 p.m., two hours ahead of midnight, which makes it a far more realistic New Year's Eve outing for families with school-age children than a midnight countdown, and watching costs nothing. With the river as the backdrop the whole town turns out for it, and families who want to make a night of it can book one of Grafton's inns and wake up in the river town on New Year's Day. Dress warmly: it is an outdoor riverside show in late December.
