Candy making is the theme of this parent-and-child class on Saturday, Jan. 16 — the start of the MLK holiday weekend — from noon to 2:30 p.m., led by Amanda Anderson. Kids aged 7 to 11 and their grown-up make gummy candies in fun shapes, oven-melted suckers, caramel-chocolate candy bars with colorful toppings, cookie-dough truffles, unicorn fudge and chocolate-dipped marshmallows, plus honeycomb candy, which doubles as a kitchen-science lesson when the caramel foams up. Candy made in class may be taken home. The fee is $130 for the parent-and-child pair.
