About this adventure

Thanksgiving weekend cooking demonstrations at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown show how Virginia's English colonists and Powhatan Indians gathered, preserved and cooked food. At Paspahegh Town families watch venison, turkey and other game roast over open fires and corn stews bubble in clay pots; at James Fort interpreters bake bread in a Devon oven and cook puddings, pies and pottage from 16th- and 17th-century recipes. Along the ships' pier, sailors' fare of salted fish, biscuit and dried foods is on show. Included with museum admission.
