Dozens of Scottish clans in colorful tartans parade through Old Town Alexandria, joined by pipe and drum bands, terriers and hounds, and community groups. The Scottish Walk is one of the city's signature holiday traditions, and in 2026 the City of Alexandria took over as lead producer with support from the Campagna Center and Visit Alexandria. The route runs along King, Royal and Fairfax Streets. Watching is free; bring little ones early to find a curbside spot, and consider pairing it with the free open house at Carlyle House the same morning.
