About this adventure

On the day after Thanksgiving, Downtown Frederick turns Black Friday into an all-day holiday celebration of its 250-plus locally owned shops. Families can get free photos with Santa, listen to live holiday music and carolers, and roast marshmallows downtown between stops, with free parking all around downtown (parking is free every weekend from Thanksgiving through New Year's). After dark the downtown tree lights, the Light Walk installations and the glowing sailboats on Carroll Creek make it easy to stay into the evening.
