About this adventure

A free, hands-on story time for elementary-age children that pairs a picture book with tasting new fruits and vegetables. This session reads Tops & Bottoms by Janet Stevens, the trickster tale about a hare who outsmarts a bear by deciding which half of each vegetable to harvest, and then children try the foods from the story. It is a one-hour after-school program at Ashburn Library, aimed at grades 1 through 5, and a good way to coax picky eaters into trying something new alongside other kids.
