Staff from the Surratt House Museum bring this free family program to the Surratts-Clinton Branch Library on Saturday, December 12 from 11 a.m. to noon. Children ages six to thirteen hear a reading of Paper Son: The Inspiring Story of Tyrus Wong, Immigrant and Artist by Julie Leung, illustrated by Chris Sasaki, which celebrates one of the overlooked Asian Americans who helped shape the country, and then build 3D flying kites. It is a short program that combines a picture-book biography with a hands-on craft, a good fit for early-elementary through middle-school readers. Registration is requested through the Register Here link on the Prince George's Parks event page. The library is at 9400 Piscataway Road in Clinton.
