About this adventure

In this December homeschool class at the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, students ages 7 to 12 layer several art supplies to make a textured picture inspired by Ted Waddell's painting Ruby Valley Angus. They first brush watercolor across the paper, then build oil pastel on top to imitate the raised texture of the original, and finally make an animal stamp they can print again and again to show a whole herd crossing the composition. The 90-minute Friday-afternoon session includes a tour of the related artwork in the galleries. Students are dropped off and picked up at the Borderlands Classroom. Registration closes Friday, November 27, at least 10 students are needed, and members pay a reduced per-student fee.
