For its 60th anniversary, the Carroll County Farm Museum decorates the 1852–53 Carroll County Almshouse for a holiday tour called 'Hands that Built the Holiday'. Each room reflects a trade, task or tradition that shaped life on the farm in the mid-1800s, paired with crafts that continue at the museum today, so visitors experience 'a Christmas built by hand — past, present, and future.' It is a self-paced, indoor history outing that school-age children can enjoy alongside grandparents, and on weekends Santa is in the schoolhouse. Open December 1–20, Monday to Friday 9 am–4 pm and Saturday–Sunday noon–4 pm. Admission is $10 per family, $5 for adults and children 9 and older, $4 for seniors 60 and up.
