About this adventure

A free one-hour family bird walk through the restored meadows and wetland edges of Mass Audubon's Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary in Plymouth, a former cranberry farm now returning to Pine Barrens habitat. A naturalist teaches simple birding skills in a family-friendly way, points out the fall birds using the sanctuary and explains how the restoration supports more diverse bird life. Binoculars help but are not required — extras are available to borrow — and all experience levels are welcome. The walk is aimed at families with children 8 to 17 and takes place entirely outdoors, so wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate layers. Meet in the sanctuary parking lot; register through Mass Audubon.
