About this adventure
A winter evening walk after dark at Mass Audubon's Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary in Plymouth, where towering pines, open grasslands and restored cranberry-bog wetlands make some of the South Shore's best owl habitat. A naturalist guide leads families along the trails, listening for the resident owls and teaching how to tell species apart by their calls, how the sanctuary's restoration work has improved habitat for these nocturnal hunters, and what owls reveal about the health of the landscape. Sightings are never guaranteed. Open to adults and families with children 8 to 17; meet in the main parking lot on Beaver Dam Road, bring a light source and dress warmly. Registration is required through Mass Audubon.
