About this adventure

Concord Museum's annual holiday installation fills the galleries with dozens of story trees, each decorated by local volunteers and community groups to bring a beloved picture book to life with handmade ornaments and scenes. Families walk through the glowing display, settle in with a book, or follow a festive scavenger hunt; this year's mix includes classic favorites, newer stories and titles by local authors and illustrators. It works for toddlers through early-elementary readers and makes an easy hour-long holiday outing. On Sunday, December 6 from 1 to 3 pm an Afternoon with Authors and Illustrators brings local creators — and some of the book characters — to meet visitors. Advance tickets are encouraged but not required; tickets go on sale in November. Family Trees raises money for the museum's school programs.
