About this adventure
Blue Hills Ski Area, the ski hill inside the state's Blue Hills Reservation just off I-93 in Canton, has its winter lesson programs for kids on sale for January and February. Each program is five 1-hour group lessons on the same day of the week, plus a bonus full-day ticket after the final session. Families choose a weekday or a weekend slot, with weekend sessions starting January 2 and weekday sessions starting January 4, and no classes on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. The groups are split by age: Pathfinders, new this winter, is a play-based start for skiers and snowboarders ages 3 to 5 that stays on the magic carpets and rope tows; Explorers covers ages 4 to 6 on surface-lift terrain; Adventurers is the multi-week progression program for ages 7 to 12; and Trailblazers puts teens 13 to 18 with adult instructors. Program prices cover lessons only, so each child also needs a Blue Hills season pass or the Seasonal Program Lift Ticket (five full-day tickets for the program dates), which is offered as an add-on at checkout. Helmets are required for all youth programs and can be rented or bought when you check out.
