Sensory-Friendly Boo in the Barnyard at Weir River Farm

A dedicated quieter hour of Weir River Farm's Halloween barnyard event, with fewer guests and a calmer environment for any family that benefits from a limited-capacity visit. Children come in costume (the farm asks for no flowy capes, which can scare the animals) to meet Petunia the pig, Betty the sheep, Pepper the goat and the other barnyard animals, follow a festive scavenger hunt, make a seasonal craft and enjoy a sweet treat. A visual story guide and sensory kits are available in the barnyard and staff lend noise-reducing headphones, though supplies are limited, so bring what your child needs. Afterwards families can walk the farm's woodland trails. Pre-registration is required; the event runs rain or shine and dogs are not allowed on this working farm. Park in the lot across from the Studio and follow the 'chute' down to the barnyard.
