About this adventure
Crystal Lake Park District lights a trail through Veteran Acres for an evening stroll under the stars on four nights in early December. Wednesday through Friday (Dec. 2–4) are lit-trail-only walks; Saturday, Dec. 5 adds campfires, hot cocoa and cookies, a Candy Cane Forest, carolers and Mrs. Claus. Parking is at the Nature Center, Veteran Acres and Oakwoods Lodge. Entry is free, with a $1 per person ($5 max per family) donation appreciated for Nature Center education programs. Dress for an evening outdoors in December.
