Crabtree Nature Center's Halloween-eve party on Friday, October 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. combines a jack-o'-lantern walk on the trail, campfire stories and other festive activities. Costumes are encouraged. It is free and listed for youth, astronomy and storytelling, so expect an evening outdoors after dark; bring flashlights only if staff allow them and dress warmly. Suitable for families with school-age children who are comfortable on a nighttime walk.
