Organizer

Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center

The ice rink at Galleria Dallas sits under a three-story atrium and, from early November to early January, around the mall's giant indoor Christmas tree, so holiday skating here comes with a view of the decorations and the shoppers above. Public skating is first come, first served and no reservations are taken; once you pay admission you can stay for the whole public session. Admission is $13 and skate rental $5 (plus tax). Rental skates may not leave the skating center. Opened in 1982, the rink has hosted many Olympic and national champion skaters, and it runs the Galleria Dallas Ice Skating School (Tot Intro for ages 3-5 and Jr. Intro for 6-12), private lessons, introductory 15-minute lessons on Saturday afternoons ($32 with admission and rental) and synchronized skating teams. Outside food is not allowed except desserts. Groups of 10 or more can book discounted rates 48 hours ahead, except during Thanksgiving week and the Christmas holiday period.
