Richardson's Christmas Parade comes on the first Saturday in December, and the 2026 theme is Favorite Holiday Movies. Floats, decorated vehicles, marching bands, scout troops, school clubs, dance teams, church groups and animal units travel north along Coit Road from Cherrywood Drive to Melrose Drive at JJ Pearce High School; the route switches between the east and west sides of town each year. Families watch from the curb for free. Groups that want to take part apply between Oct 26 and Nov 22 and pay a small entry fee plus a new, unwrapped toy, which go to the Network of Community Ministries for local families in need. Volunteer judges give division and specialty awards.
