About this adventure

Chuck E. Cheese in Lone Tree opens before its regular Sunday hours on the first Sunday of each month for Sensory Sensitive Sundays, a calmer two-hour session for children with autism, sensory processing disorder, ADHD or other special needs and their families. The program was reviewed with Autism Speaks in 2026. During the session the game room and dining room lights are dimmed, flashing and strobe effects are switched off, background music is turned down and the amplifiers are off, so the stage show plays visually with little sound; individual games may still make their own noises. Because it runs before the regular Sunday crowd arrives, the room is smaller and quieter. Character visits happen but are optional, and families can tell the team if their child would rather skip them. Staff are trained to use clear, simple language, give children space and avoid drawing attention to hard moments, and they give advance notice before lights and sound go back to normal at the end of the window. Siblings, parents, caregivers and friends are welcome, any family that prefers a quieter visit can come, and no reservation is needed. The usual Kid Check hand-stamp system applies, and adults stay with their children the whole time.
