About this adventure
The DCPA's Theatre for Young Audiences production of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!, based on Mo Willems' picture book, has one accessible performance in its fall run: Sunday, November 8 at 1:30 pm, with American Sign Language interpretation and audio description. It is a good first-theatre outing for young Deaf or hard-of-hearing children, blind or low-vision family members, and kids learning ASL. The hour-long show has no intermission and is aimed at pre-K through 3rd grade: the Pigeon pleads, squawks and tries every trick to get behind the wheel of a city bus, with puppets, catchy songs, dancing and plenty of audience interaction. The production plays in the intimate Randy Weeks Conservatory Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, so children sit close to the action. Tickets are sold only through denvercenter.org.
