About this adventure

Two performances of the Arvada Center's 50th-anniversary production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on the Main Stage carry live audio description for patrons with vision loss. A trained describer watches the show and speaks into a microphone, describing the costumes, the set and the movement on stage, and listeners hear it through a receiver with a choice of headphone styles, so a blind or low-vision parent, grandparent or child can follow the colorful staging that the show is known for. The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical tells the story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and his famous coat through songs that jump from country western to bubblegum pop, with energetic choreography and one very colorful coat. The center admits only children 6 and older to this production and every attendee needs a ticket. Audio description has to be requested at least two weeks ahead, so families should call the box office when buying seats for one of these two dates.
