The City of Deer Park holds its Tree Lighting Spectacular on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. around the historic Patrick's Cabin, with the tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Costumed 'first settlers' tell how Deer Park came to be called the Birthplace of Texas. Families can tour Patrick's Cabin, sip apple cider and hear 'Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Simeon West Campfire, decorate ornaments at Santa's Workshop craft station, eat cookies from Mrs. Claus's Bake Shoppe, mail letters to Santa at the North Pole Post Office, pet animals at a live Bethlehem nativity, sing with carolers around the tree and browse Kris Kringle's Market Place. Questions go to Susan Mele at 281-478-7288.
