About this adventure

Jacksonville's zoo on the Trout River in north Jacksonville holds about 2,000 animals and 1,000 plant species across habitats grouped by region: Florida, South America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Europe and Australia, plus botanical gardens. Families can ride the all-day train, which stops near Trout River Plaza and at Main Camp; children 12 and under can ride the wildlife carousel; and a 4D theater runs short films every 30 minutes. Keeper feedings are posted daily, including penguin feedings at Tuxedo Coast in the Play Park area, and guests can feed giraffes at Giraffe Overlook, lorikeets at Lorikeet Landing and rays at Stingray Bay when available. The Nature Agents app turns a visit into a scavenger hunt with discovery points around the park. The zoo is cashless, and buying online avoids a gate fee.
