On Saturday morning, December 12, the Monticello Library in western Shawnee hosts a graham cracker cottage workshop. Every registered participant gets a sturdy base created by the MakerSpace along with icing and candy, then spends the hour decorating a small holiday house. The library recommends it for children with a caregiver, which makes it a good parent-and-child activity for preschoolers and early elementary kids. The session runs 10 to 11 a.m. Space is limited and registration is required for each person who wants a cottage.
