About this adventure

Candy Cane Lane is a West Allis neighborhood tradition in which the homeowners on several blocks between 92nd and 96th Streets and Montana and Oklahoma Avenues decorate their houses and yards with lights for the holidays, drawing visitors who drive slowly or walk through. The display runs as a fundraiser for the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer), and volunteers collect donations on 95th Street between Oklahoma and Manitoba; credit cards are accepted on site. Families can stay in the car with headlights on, or bundle up and stroll the sidewalks; the organizers note you might even see Santa walking down the street. Because it is a residential neighborhood with heavy traffic, visitors are asked to obey traffic signs, keep passengers inside moving cars, stay off private property and the road, and cross only at corners. Walking works best with children old enough to hold a hand near traffic; with babies or toddlers, driving through is easier. Hours can change with weather and traffic.
