About this adventure

On December weekends the Minnesota Transportation Museum turns its Jackson Street Roundhouse in Saint Paul into Santa's Train Shop. Children can climb aboard the North Pole Mail Train for pictures with Santa, take a Christmas caboose ride, make holiday crafts to take home, follow a scavenger hunt through the museum, listen to North Pole story time and look over a Lego village and other displays built by local creators. Food and treats are sold on site. Each ticket is booked for a specific caboose ride time, but it includes admission to all of the museum's activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day, so families can arrive at opening and stay as long as they like. The museum warns that tickets go fast. Exhibit areas and restrooms are wheelchair accessible, though most historic train cars, including the cabooses used for the rides, are not.
