About this adventure
The touring stage production of A Charlie Brown Christmas plays two shows on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the Peanuts gang try to put on their own Christmas play and discover what the season is really about, adapted from Charles M. Schulz's story with Vince Guaraldi's music. The noon and 4 pm performances (doors open an hour earlier) make it an easy family matinee during the long holiday weekend, well suited to preschool and elementary-age children who know the TV special. It takes place in the Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre on the Basie Center campus; Red Bank's downtown is decorated for the season and within walking distance. Tickets are sold through the Basie's Ticketmaster link and box office (732-842-9000).
