About this adventure

Brandywine Ballet has staged The Nutcracker every holiday season since 1985, and the 2026 production plays the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall at West Chester University. It is the full Tchaikovsky ballet: Clara and Uncle Drosselmeyer battle the Mouse King, travel through the forest of dancing snowflakes and arrive in the Land of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy presents a parade of character dances. The show runs about two hours including a 15-minute intermission, a good length for children who have seen a shorter show before and are ready for a full ballet. Public performances are Friday December 18 at 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday December 19 and 20 at 11 am and 4 pm; the Friday 10 am show is reserved for student and senior groups. Tickets are $30 to $50 through the company's box office, and seating begins 30 minutes before curtain. Campus garages and metered street parking are near the hall.
