About this adventure
The Rock School for Dance presents The Enchanted Nutcracker, a two-act, roughly 90-minute version of the holiday ballet designed for families, at the Miller Theater on South Broad Street. Rock School students dance the classic story with magical snowfall and the Waltz of the Flowers, and this year the production adds an animated backdrop. Light narration helps young children follow the story, and the school describes the performance as inclusive and sensory-friendly, so it works well as a first ballet for preschoolers and for children who find a full-length Nutcracker too long or too loud. Three performances are scheduled: Saturday December 5 at 11:30 am and 4 pm, and Sunday December 6 at 11:30 am. Tickets start at $10 and are sold through Ensemble Arts Philly; groups can call Ensemble Arts Sales for a discount on tickets above $10.
