Litchfield Park's free, family-focused Christmas in the Park fills Litchfield Square Park on the second Saturday of December. The holiday market with more than 60 vendors opens at 9 a.m., and at 10 a.m. a hometown parade of over 75 entries (marching bands, school and youth groups, scouts, and Santa and Mrs. Claus riding Old Red) loops along Old Litchfield Road, Village Parkway and La Loma Avenue. Afterwards local youth choirs and dance troupes perform every half hour until 3 p.m. Kids can make free crafts in Santa's Workshop, visit a petting zoo, bounce in holiday inflatables, ride mini dinosaurs (small fee) and pose with Santa from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Food vendors are on site.
