About this adventure

Mannheim Steamroller's touring Christmas show stops at Mesa Arts Center over Thanksgiving weekend, a ready-made family outing for the Saturday and Sunday after the holiday. Created by Grammy winner Chip Davis, the concert plays the group's Christmas classics in the distinctive Mannheim sound, with 15 musicians switching among more than 20 instruments. The music is set against a backdrop of large multimedia effects, so there is plenty to watch as well as hear, which makes it an easier first concert for children than a seated orchestra program. The show has toured as a holiday tradition for more than 40 years. There are three performances: Saturday, November 28 at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday, November 29 at 2:00 PM, with the two matinees the easier choice for young children's bedtimes. Tickets start at $53.50 including fees and are sold through the Mesa Arts Center box office; parking in the arts center's south lot or the Sirrine Street Garage costs $10, and Downtown Mesa's restaurants are a short walk away for a meal before or after the show.
