About this adventure

Phoenix's Veterans Day Parade, presented since 1997 by Honoring America's Veterans, marks its 30th anniversary in 2026 on a new route: it steps off at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, and heads north on Third Street from McDowell Road to Indian School Road. Organizers expect more than 45,000 spectators along the curb to salute marching units, floats, veterans' service organizations and the Veterans Grand Marshals, nominated veterans who each represent an era of service and ride in the parade; Super Bowl XX quarterback Jim McMahon is this year's Celebrity Grand Marshal. The parade starts at 11 a.m. on 11/11 on purpose, to mark Armistice Day and the end of World War I, which makes it a natural moment to explain the holiday to children. It usually runs about two hours, ending around 1 p.m. Spectator parking is first-come, first-served on the side streets around the route, so plan to arrive early and walk in; the organizer's route map shows where the speaker towers stand if you want to hear each entry announced. A downloadable parade program is promised before the day.
