About this adventure

On eight mornings between Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas Eve, Santa makes a stop at Fountain Park in the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale. Families line up at a designated Santa spot with a glowing Christmas-tree backdrop and take their own photos on a phone or camera, so there are no photo packages to buy. It is first come, first served and reservations are not taken, which makes it a good low-key alternative to the timed, paid mall Santa sets; go early on the Saturdays closest to Christmas. The visits run two hours (three on Dec 12 and Dec 19) and fall on Saturdays plus the four days right before Christmas, when school is already out. The district's restaurants surround the park if you want a snack afterward.
