Ballet Arizona's full-length production of Ib Andersen's The Nutcracker returns to Symphony Hall in downtown Phoenix for a December run, with live music played by The Phoenix Symphony. The ballet follows Clara's wintry adventure as she battles mischievous mice and meets the Sugar Plum Fairy, which makes it a common first ballet for school-age children and a yearly tradition for many families. Performances run December 11 through 27, 2026 at a mix of evening and matinee times (the company calendar shows 1:00, 2:00, 5:30, 7:00 and 7:30 PM curtains on different days). Families with children who prefer a shorter, calmer show can look at the separate Sensory Adapted Nutcracker on December 16. Check the Ballet Arizona calendar for the exact curtain time of the date you want and buy reserved seats in advance; ticket prices were not printed on the pages reviewed.
